A hucker is basically a freerider - more specifically, someone who jumps off of obstacles. Stunts and dirt jumps are often built by huckers. This is in contrast to cross country mountain bikers, like me, who prefer trails without stunts and jumps, although some of us, myself included, do like a little freeriding with some super technical sections (rocks, logs, etc.).

Actuaaally....The dudes we ride with down here huck on XC trails -the logovers and crazy other thingies are on many of the trails here. There is often another way to get round them should you feel a bit

Don't put all the XC eggs into one basket..

You can huck on XC or DH trails..

A huck does not usually involve a great deal of finesse or style either.
Drink coffee and do stupid things faster with more energy.

That still perfectly fits the definition I gave. Just because there are hucking opportunities on many XC trails doesn't mean it's traditionally (keyword: traditionally) XC riding. I'm a cross country rider who sticks with it, although I've been caught mini-hucking. Mini hucks hurt less when you fall.

Hucking and XC riding often get mixed together, but that doesn't change the definitions.
