I have been checking out some race listings for WA state, and I can find Triathlons (all 3 sports), Duathlons (biking and running?), and Aquathlons (swimming and running?).
Is there any kind of regular race designation for just swimming and biking?

Not really. You typically find the HIM distance setup as an Aquathon though. I haven't really seen that option for any other distance.

KSH, thanks. That is kind of what I was afraid of.
BTW, I LOL on the running thread when I read your comment about pulling that amazing run out of your rear. You crack me up. (Crack, get it?) OK...sorry. Bad joke. Anyhow, cool about your awesome run!

For some reason, the word Aquabike is in my head...
Ahh, this is why.

Starfish - I'm so glad you brought this up, I've been looking for something like this for DH.

Ah, Dex! Neat to know there is a term for it.
I want to Try a Tri, but I cannot possibly start running until I lose some weight, and I am struggling with that for now (I know, I know...walk the run). I was thinking that if there were some Swim/Bike only events, it would just be a fun way for me to try out a multi-sport event, since swimming and biking are both in my comfort zones.
