I fully intended to put some miles down today, but I just couldn't do it. The bug I've been working through has kicked my butt and I was cooked in nothing flat.

I ventured out for a ride late friday afternoon. Umm, mainly because i forgot to apply sunscreen when I ventured to the doggie beach w yukon..oops..
Anywho, I am eager to see how each bike ride goes & how much extra to add next time. Moving round the saddle doesn't pose a huge problem but jumping out of the saddle for uphills is out of the question for now. I'm working on upper hamstring & glute strength but they take time..
It was grrrr windy out there but it just made me cycle smarterI managed 20km.
Got out this a.m. for 25 miles on my new flame. Had some seat issues but I think I just need to adjust for "less pressure on the soft vaginal tissues," as the guy at the bike shop where I got my first real bike advised when I asked what to watch out for on longer rides. I have no idea how fast I was going but it's definitely a nice bike for crosswinds. I would have gone further but since I was going on the strength of a soft pretzel (it is Good Friday) and ginger ale I didn't really want to bonk.
Then a couple more miles to get this here brand new computer. Oy. 600 Wednesday for a bicycle and 1100 today for a 'puter. Good thing I've been living lean for a while and thought the bike would cost more![]()
I did a bike commute to work and back (almost 10 miles each way). Even stopped off for some minor shopping on the way home.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

The great thing about cycling short commutes is that there's no reason to consolidate trips
Did the usual road loop this morning with the boys. Saw two sandhill cranes right by the side of the road. Later on in the ride, a stereo system fell out of a pickup truck in the opposite lane. CDs and broken stuff went everywhere! Luckily it wasn't that close to us and the CDs stopped rolling before they even got to us. 36 moderately strenuous miles.
Then a shower and off to the acupuncture doctor and grocery shopping on the commuter bike, about three and a half miles.
And finally, another four miles with DH to dinner and back.
Beautiful day![]()

Went out with DH after work. He had to change a tire, so it was just a 15 miler. Just as well, we are facing Jester in the morning. Did a little work drafting and even pulling! I generally hate pulling but had fun this time. I am really trying to embrace it. Definite victory for me today.![]()
