New addition to the Cheese Bike Family

Okay, back in the "Do you name your bikes?" thread, I mentioned how I have:
    - Cheddar (10+ year old Trek brought from Wisconsin)
    - Brie (my smooth {and rich!} Specialized Ruby Pro)
    - and my mountain bike would be Chevre (when I finally got around to purchasing her).

Well, recently, I became obsessed with cruisers. That's what happens when you're trying to catch up on a year or so issues of Bicycling magazine that have been stacking up in your TO READ pile, and the first several full-page ads in each were for these bikes that looked both stylish *and* super comfortable, which were options that I had kind of forgotten were still available. The kinds of bikes you throw a loaf of french bread and a bundle of daffodils into the basket and have on a flowered skirt and flipflops, instead of planning your entire afternoon around the fact that you'll have cleats and spandex on, you know? Several websites of reviews, stats, asking friends, drooling over floor models, you know how it goes...

So, please welcome to the cheese family: GOUDA

She's an Electra Betty with flames and tassels and a basket and a bell and a kickstand and has not an *ounce* of carbon fiber on her. I was inspired by the Dutch comfort city bikes, so I figured a Dutch sheep cheese name fit.

I no longer have the excuse to drive to the grocery store, now that I own something this awesome. So I'll make it up in saved gas money, right? right?

-- gnat! (I just hope the road bikes don't get jealous....)

    I love that bike!
I wish I lived in flat area where a bike like that would be fun.
Or I could get really strong and ride a cruiser up my hill...

I love those pink wheels. Just the right touch.

I bought an old Schwinn cruiser at a garage sale over the winter. I think I'll end up giving it to my DIL, but it would look so cute with a basket.

    Slick, gnat.
Internally geared hub? 3- or 7-speed?
I also picked up a Schwinn cruiser at a yard sale. No basket. Single speed and heavy as a tank. It doesn't go much farther than up and down our street. Too many rolling hills in our neighborhood!

I have a basket like that on my cruiser--very handy for picking up trash on my rides around the neighborhood.

Love the pink/white flames on the fenders!

She's (?, she's a girl, right?) very pretty. I've thought a cruiser would be a fun errand/grocery bike. Yesterday while my bars were being being taped, I rode a Trek Lime around the shop. It was so cute.

Very cool! And great name for her!

I love that basket, too. (my cruiser is going to have one like that)
