    Does this count?

Yesterday was the first nice day and it was beautiful, but since Daylight Savings Time began, it's too dark in the a.m. ye to bike to work. After work I biked to the Walgreens for a few things. Got my stuff, went to check out, and - oops I forgot my credit card. So back home, discovered that I really did have my cc after all, it was just shoved deep into a pocket in my billfold. Then back to the store for my stuff. Double the ride and the fun!

    More trips to come!

It was a nice warm up for the commuting season. I plan to run all my errands on the bike this year. Well, OK, as many as possible.

Today is my 60th birthday (and it didn't hurt a bit! ) I had hoped to celebrate it by riding to work but it won't be light enough in the a.m. until maybe next week. The bike's in the shop tonight getting annual maintenance.

Turning 60 was a lot less traumatic than the 50 milestone. I had a little brush with death in January and that taught me a thing or two about appreciating the gift of growing old!

An old doctor I knew in my youth once said,
"You have to be alive to get old. Dead people don't age worth a d_mn."
