Unhappy Is there such thing as invisible moths ?

I loves my wool. I have a bunch of wool jerseys, Smartwool/Ibex/Icebreaker tops, wool tights and wool socks.

Every now & then I'll find a small hole, but I just chalk it up to everyday wear & tear.

But today I found a couple of holes in my precious SF Randonneurs wool jersey - which I have not even worn yet, much less wash or dry.

But I see no sign of moths, moth larvae, or anything wool-munching critter-like in my drawer.

    What am I overlooking here?

I'm wondering the same thing - I have a small hole in a cashmere sweater that looks suspiciously like a moth hole....

You don't always catch the perps. The caterpillar does the chewing, then it hides itself in a tiny crack somewhere and emerges the next season as a moth.

Crickets can chew on wool as well. They could be sneaking in the back of your dresser drawers and feasting while you're not around. Try getting various cedar bags & blocks. That's what my momma always used to keep the bugs out of her wool.
