    Knee issue

Lately after a ride I have been having knee pain/soreness (also feels like bruising/tenderness) not on my knee cap but directly to the side (inside). And also the muscle just above my knee (quad?). What could be causing this. I have never had this before? Yes, I have not been riding through the winter and had let myself go. But now with the nicer weather I am trying to get back into shape and I've started my training for my big summer event. Is it my age? (ahem 54) or an old injury coming back with a vengence. I did pull my quad years ago but it never gave me trouble before. Now this soreness on the side of my knee cap and directly above are starting to worry me.

Thank you to anyone who may have a clue!

    Susan,

Check out this website it is packed with information. Click on the "performance tip of the day" and cycle through them until you find your particular problem. Larry offers information regarding possible causes as well as how to fix the problem.
