Spring Previews - February 25th to March 2nd Runs

We've had spectacular days here in Vancouver, BC, so let's call this "Spring Previews."

What spring - summer running events are you all signed up for?

I have an 8K race on March 16th and then the Vancouver Sun Run (sort of a cult event, 50,000 people and more for a 10K "race" with everyone's times published in the newspapers the next day!!) on April 20th. I'll do the latter just for fun, with a bunch of friends.

    So I keep on running!

This morning I did a gentle 5K with my running partner. I was thinking about doing intervals but she was not up for hard running (at 7:15 in the morning I really wasn't either) so I decided I would do the intervals at the end of the day instead, perhaps even go to a track, and just have an enjoyable half-hour with her. We did that.

    I'm quite stiff. But happy.

    Your turn!

I'm not signed up for any running events (yet). I'll take 'em as they come. I guess I should see about some swimming lessons though, if I really want to do a sprint tri in '09

Intervals today, 1 min x 7, and it felt pretty good. I'd say I'm back to where I was before I got sick... although there's still a little lingering infection in my ear Just a little and it isn't interfering with my hearing at all, so I'll let it work itself out. Four miles total.

Today's theme on the beach: west wind. Even though it was an hour before high tide, the surface was wide and firm.

It was a cold one here this morning - mid 20's with winds 15-25 that really bit. But I layered up and got in two miles anyway.

I'm not signed up for any events yet but if the weather is acceptable (o.k., I'm a weenie about running events in bad weather - ), I'm planning on doing the St. Pat's Run which will be held the Saturday before (March 15th, I think). It's a 4-mile run commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Army Reserves. My son is in the Army Reserves and he might do it, too, which would be cool. Then there's the annual 10K the second Saturday in May. After that, who knows.

Ran 10 miles yesterday as a 5 and 5 split.

I'm gonna try for at least 8 again today. My legs are starting to get sore.

    Wahine, you rock.

I would donate some of my miles to you but I know you don't need them.
