    music for working out...

I got an Ipod shuffle for Christmas and it makes running on the treadmill tolerable, and makes running on the small 1/8 mile indoor track at my gym actually fun. (I'm old enough that the idea of running OUTSIDE with an ipod is strange... also I enjoy running outside and don't need the extra motivation).

But I need more music. What do you listen to to get motivated for exercise? My playlist is pretty varied, ranging from classic rock (Stones, Kinks, Janis Joplin) to disco ("I Will Survive" gets me working it every time), to Sex Pistols & Ramones to Blondie to Aerosmith & Jane's Addiction... I even managed to find a few high RPM Velvet Underground songs (my favorite band of all time...).

Basically looking for high RPM music... any suggestions welcome .

    Thanks!

Classic Van Halen really gets me moving (Van Halen, not Van Hagar)..."Hot For Teacher" is great for interval sprinting!

And having grown up in New Jersey, I can't resist Bon Jovi .

I was just thinking about music the other day, and that I should dig up some thread about music that goes through your head while riding. This might be a bit silly for some but we love Crazy Frog. There's one song in particular:

I think of that as I approach the first stop light of my commute, because just up a bit is a roundabout (the corner). I have no idea if my wheels are steel though!
