Totally overcast here in Central VA. Last night, naturally, was totally clear. The clouds rolled in just in time to hide tonight's spectacle.........

I"ve got scattered clouds. But, I get glimpses that are stunning. It's about halfway covered right now!

Ooooh...gorgeous right now! About 1/2 covered, and right now, still low enough in the sky for it to look HUGE!!

Kathi, Zen, QUICK!!! Come to Moonshine Mountain!!! Absolutely, perfectly clear and the moon (what's left of it) is amazing. Saturn is gorgeous - AWESOME!!

So....not all of the east coast is covered in clouds.....(if my poor digital camera could, I'd take a picture.....)

Oh, Jane, you're right! There's a big hole in the cloud cover (at least for the moment, LOL!) right where the moon is now (9:42 p.m.)......Verrrrrryyyyy cool!......

The skies cleared up exactly when we needed it. That *never* happens. I gotta go sacrifice a goat or a virgin or something....
Here's a couple of photos I took this evening. Hope you enjoy.

DH and I went outside last night to catch a bit of it. Brrrrr...clear and cold (especially when wearing only sweats and slippers!). I had forgotten about it until he mentioned it.
Popokui_Nui...that's a great picture. Is that hooked up to a telescope? DH mentioned being able to see the rings of Saturn with a good-ish tele (I remember we used to have a semi-decent one when I was a kid and could see them). Any pix of Saturn?
