    Good bye "Awakening"

Well, The Awakening is moving on. Glad I got to see it when I did with the first - and second - TE-DC Tour of DC rides.

I saw this in the paper today, and thought the same thing--I'm glad I got to see it on our rides. Seems a little sad...

That is sad. I never got to see it and it's very extremely highly unlikely I'll see it in PG County

Well I've certainly driven by but have not had the opportunity to go examine it up close. If I didn't already have plans this weekend I'd say let's go on Sat and check it out one last time by bike. But there's still time for the rest of you DC types. Well if you go, give it a wave for me.

Regina, do you have the picture of us in the giant's hand you can post?
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

I agree---moving it is a shame. It looked so perfect at Hains Pt.

I thought I did, but I don't seem to have one in the links from our June or November rides....
Here are some of us exploring the head.

I think it's silly they are moving it to PG County. Who is going to see it up there?

Hey now, let's not start the PG bashing! I lived there for three years and have a bit of PG pride left. Is it going to National Harbor across the Potomac from Alexandria? If so, there will be lots of people to see it. Also, the new Wilson Bridge is supposed to have a bike path across the river, so you, too, can get there from the Mount Vernon Trail. The only problem is that there are spotty trail connections on the Maryland side, but there's folks working to fix that.
