Hail girls!
I am looking at different bikes to buy this year, one a road bike but the other a starter tri bike. I have a friend who works in a bike shop that sells Jamis and Guru bikes.
Does anyone have any experience riding any of these types of bikes? More specifically I am looking at the Jamis Trilogy or the Guru Ventus. I am trying to stray away from steel, I want a starter bike that is not high priced (I'm not going to Kona anytime soon) but also color is important. I know- it shouldn't be, but color is very important to me; Guru does custom colors but i don't know much about how they ride.

I can't speak for that particular Jamis, but their bikes overall are great quality for the price.

Why not steel? Just curious (don't worry, I'm not a Steel Nazi, as I love my titanium bike, too).
Glad you're doing better, Mz. Meg. Did you try the Irish cure I recommended?

No, actually, but I wish I had- I have the whiskey, honey, and the other ingredient you mentioned (can't remember)... I now have sinus drainage that will not go away!

I haven't ridden a Guru tri bike, but a good friend of mine has one. He LOVES his bike! Rides like a dream and is really great. He loves it as much as I love my Cervelo (which is a whole lot). Can you test ride one before you buy it? Guru was on my list for a new tri bike, but it got beat out by the Cervelo. Just personal preference.
