Am I a weenie or Smart? Goin crazy..

    Ok..I have to ask..

I am slowly beginning to wonder if i need to push my knee more..I feel like a freakin weenie & rather annoyed..I've done the strengthening exercises religiously but my leg isn't as strong as i'd expect it to be. No more physio as he can't help me any further.

Does it normally take forever? I heard that it could take another 8-12 weeks with recovery. I'm just about there but I want more power. I'm going crazy like RNRG..I just wanna ride outside..

So, how much should i push my knee? I wanna cycle outside for a wee bit but my dear man is paranoid and thinks i should just spend time on the trainer. As i mentioned in my ride report my knee hurt when i pushed off, pushed down, went over uneven surfaces etc etc..but is that to be expected and do i just ignore it? It happens when i swim with fins as well but i just deal with it..

Is cycling outside & in some pain a bad thing?

I am going crazy yet again...Impatience is creeping up..

    YES!!! Good Question...Excellent...

Is recovery going to be pain free???

    CC,
I do not know what to tell you , we need the experts here. I know the paranoia....scared of set backs, but is there going to be, and should there be at some point in your recovery some pain?

    Rididng outside...such a big...carrot dangling....

    Experts????

I'm no help, because I haven't worked with either of you, nor do I know exactly what is going on with either of you.

When I discharge my patients, I *always* tell them to call me if they have any questions later. Phone calls are free, and don't require a script from the doctor!

Can you guys call your old PTs/physios and ask them how hard to push it and will it hurt and such?

    in out

I thought more about this today & asked the folks at my pilates studio. The head gent said of course it's going to be painful but agreed that trainer time & one day outside isn't a bad thing. So, i shall use the trainer 3 x's a week and do a little ride outside on the weekend.

I'm working on a plan...I'm almost there and getting eager but need to be sensible ya know..
