a friend of mine has a custom Guru tri bike that makes me drool. It is a piece of art. It's a bit out of my price range tho, I'm pretty sure it ran her about 5K with all the customization she did. I can only hope for a chance to ride it some day
BTW, she loves that bike.
I think momelisa has a Guru tri bike. I don't think she's around much, so I would PM her.
I've tried out the Chono'Alu. Unofortunately, it was too big.
I think its a very nice bike though.

Made in Canada.
I've heard lots of good things about them, especially from triathletes. But never ridden one myself...
I have never ridden one but I looked at the website. As if I needed another object of lust!!! I like their philosophy and they look nice...but then again I guess it all depends on how it fits her, etc.
I have a Guru tri bike. It is the Carbonia Tri. I love it. I got it from TriSports in Tucson. I got the custom geometry option, which is almost same price as stock geometry, w/Ultegra components and a custom paint job.
Totally endorse going w/Guru. Great products and lots of detail. The custom option is awesome if you have a little time to wait for the bike.

Carbonio. That's the one I wanted but... And you have lots of colour choice and paint scheme. I'm bit picky with my component group so I was just going to get the frame and build it up with what I wanted.
check out their web site and look at all those purrty colors and schemes.

I don't see the carbonia on their website. Is it a prior year model?
"LBS sells Guru. There are nice. As I understand all is custom except the frame, of course. I think 5k is a good base figure for one."
Actually you can have it made up as a complete custom fit which is the attraction to going with them. It would be a complete custom fit carbon bike.
The one that he is looking at is the Chrono ultegra

Geez, like lot of other companies, they all keep changing the line-up and model names.
I just looked at the guru web site and its completely redone since Sept. or so.
It doesn't look like they are making Ti frame. They used to...
So dear silver,
yes you are right crono'alu and carbonio is the older models not shown on the web site.
Crono with ultegra, very nice bike. Mr. Silver would really enjoy that. too recall that his body measurements were bit unusual (some passing comments from other threads), so going with full custom like Guru would be a really wise choice.
Happy shopping, (well tis the season for shopping)

is it a dumb question to ask what is different in a tri bike than a road bike? apologies if that is too stupid to ask.![]()
Among other things they have a steeper seat tube angle which is supposed to use different muscles and leave your legs better for the run.
I'd rather be swimming...biking...running...and eating cheesecake...

There are no dumb questions1
hill slug is right. Generally a tri bike wil have more elements focused on aerodynamics rather than light weight (although may have both). Triathletes are not allowed to draft and thus need to take advantage of aerodynamics moreso than road cyclists who ride in together. Tri bikes will have generally have aerobar handlebars.

One of our guys rode one to a top 10 in the FL IM a couple years ago. Seems like a nice frame.
