    Question Tri/TT Saddles

I'm going to be building up a TT bike next month, and I'm trying to decide on a saddle. For my road bike, I ride a Brooks (on a lightweight carbon frame... much to the chagrin of my weight-weenie teammates!)
However, this just won't do for a good TT position, where most of my weight will be shifted off of my seatbones and on to the nose end of the saddle. I've been eying the TT/tri saddles with wide, padded (usually gel) noses, and was wondering what you guys have found to be most bearable for short, intense efforts (I won't be in that position for more than an hour... usually 10-20 minutes at the most for a stage race TT).

I ride a Terry Zero X on my TT bike. I like it and works well for me. I do 95% of my riding on that bike and do rides up to 5-6 hours. I do find when I do short hard TT I need to remind myself to push my bum back or I have this habit of getting small tears in my private parts.

I have thought of getting a smaller harder saddle as my bike fitness improves I seem to like smaller saddles. When I got my new Orbea last month I test rode it with a Terry Butterfly which I used to ride a couple of seasons ago and it felt like I had a wad in my crotch...swapped that one out for a different saddle.

Funny about the Terry Butterfly, Kathy. It was the saddle I bought when I bought my road bike a couple years ago. When I was buying a saddle for my TT bike, I looked at the Terry and it was so... huge and cushy. I guess I've worn mine down enough that it's not so big and puffy anymore.

On my TT bike I have a Serfas Carma. http://www.serfas.com/product.asp?ProductID=55
I LOVE the Serfas saddle- very comfy on my bits in aero!!! During the tri season, it's the only saddle I ride on. I did a century on it, and felt comfortable the whole time.

Thanks- that Serfas looks like it will be just what I need as far as front-end softness!
