Running with Empty Cans of Bud Light

Wasn't sure exactly where I should post this so my apologies for location...

I am one of those people who picks up/moves the trash and other things on the road when I am running or walking. I use these roads to walk my dog, run, bike, and drive. Some of the objects are sharp and can be harmful to a person, my Ariel's doggie paws, tires on a bike or car, etc.

That being said, I was out this morning on a run (I was on the sidewalk) and I looked to my left and saw 8 scattered beer cans (and the empty pack) on the grass. I slowed my pace (ok, I am a really slow runner so slowing my pace is a bit of an overstatement)...anyway, I slowed my pace and confirmed that the cans were empty. Ok, good. Filed that information away and kept running.

On my way back, I stopped and picked up the beer cans and placed each empty can in the carton (thanks to the litterbug for leaving the empty carton for me to carry the cans). With that all taken care of, I started to run home. The looks I got from the drivers were priceless (there is a church nearby so I am bound to be the topic of a prayer group I am sure - ).

It gave me a nice laugh for that mile home. So if any of you were driving this morning and saw someone with "what appeared to be" a pack of beer in her right hand, the cans were empty.

You must have been a girl scout. Leave the place cleaner than when you found it.

BTW, you needed a box of ho-hos or was it twinkies with the beer (reference to Frank Shorter. When asked by an interviewer about his diet he replied "box of ho-hos/twinkies..." around '71/72??)

Anyone who jogs early in the morning would know that you and the pack of beer just don't go together.

Thank you for cleaning up the town. Now if everyone would, think how much cleaner it can be.

So not only were you running with what appeared to be a six pack, you were likely smiling as well...
