    Crazy happenings

I know we have some cat lovers so i must share..

It was quite hot late last night & was having troubles sleeping so i turned on our reverse cycle fan & opened our screen door..then groggily played on the computer..

All of a sudden i heard the scratch, scratch of yukon's paws on the floor. I thought nothing of it & assumed she'd found a fly or something to catch..at 2am..

Umm nope..I got up & wandered over to our othert computer desk where she wasn't moving from & saw a creature on the top. I though it was a bird but ian had crawled out of bed, turned the light on & saw the creature was a cat

I kept yukon in our room. Ian tried to seduce the kitty down by feeding it a treat but he had to eventually grab a towel and released it outside.

The poor cat ran away so quickly, it ran into our steel-type fence..oops..

Ahh..such is the excitement now that [SUMMER has arrived..

    back to regular programming..

Yukon has a new friend? Forgot to tell you he'd invited him/her over to play? And you were so nice to leave the screen door open.

sounds like maybe she has a new house member?? Especially if the kittie is a stray. Or maybe just wants a second home

Isn't it nice when your kids have friends? We had a kittie once who brought his friend home with him. Opened the door to let Max in, and here this other cat scoots in right behind him. He also had a cocker spaniel who liked him. This woman would walk her dog by our house, and one time when Max and I were in front of the house, she said, "Oh look, there's your little friend!". She unleashed the dog, the dog trotted up to Max, sniffed him over, and when Max decided he was done, he hauled off and whapped the dog in the face, and it ran back to Mom.

We also witnessed him sniffing noses with a deer.

At least it wasn't a snake. My cat brought one of those home once. And it was still alive!
We had another cat who used to live on our street, but no one owned him. He figured out if he went through our cat door there was food on the other side.
Because he was a stray I didn't want my cats to have to much contact with him (he didn't have shots) so we tried to keep him out. He would not let us near him anyway.
We called him scrappy. We feed him outside for a couple years. Tried to trap him so we could get him help but he was to smart. He ended up passing away in the bushes next door. We buried him up by our favorite bike trail. Now the scrappy trail. At least he got food for a couple years. Oh he seemed pretty old by the time he passed.

Oh oh and another time a local cat got stuck in our basement one weekend. I went in one day to get something. And it is one of those kinda scary dirty basements. As i went to turn the light on I herd a weak meow....I had visions of horror movies in my mind and was almost afraid to turn the light on. But I did and it was just a hungry big orange cat. He ran out of the basement like he's tail was on fire.
Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.

I love kitty stories, so I'll add one here. The other evening I was on the floor and trying to entice Petey to play with me. He was too lazy; snoozing. So I started playing with one of his toys that has a mouse going in and out of a hole. He loves this toy. He saw what I was doing and came over. He draped himself across the toy to keep ME from playing with it! Then he resumed his snooze.
Tis better to wear out than to rust out....
