    feeling yucky....

Should I exercise or stay in bed?

I've been feeling under the weather for several days. I have a low grade fever and slight body aches and a headache. I usually feel better in the evenings and think that I must be over this. But again, I'm up this morning feeling yucky again.

I really wanted to go over and do hill repeats on Mt. Tabor, but I'm wondering if I should just go back to bed.

OK, I figure I know what the answer is.....but let me hear from you all anyway.

Go back to bed and let your body heal! A day or so off to get better is better than going out, wearing yourself out and making the illness worse. We can't be having that as we aren't quite to our goal yet!

    Get well soon!

Hey Tater! How's the riding going? I hit 5000 last week and I'm hungry for more. I haven't been on the bike since Saturday and even that ride was so pathetic, I should have known that I was not well.

I've even wondered if this is overtraining. OK, thanks for the encouragement. I'll stay inside.

    Oh, Good Lordy! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But after a summer of swimming in swamps and running through forests and fields, there's no telling what kind of other nasty crap I may have been exposed to.

Well, It's been raining all day so I've stayed inside. If I'm not feeling any better tomorrow, I'll go see the doctor when I get back to home A

I actually think I would ride, but I *would not* do hill repeats. I'd go for a slow "walking effort" ride, just to get the blood flowing. But 9/10 times, exercise makes me feel better, and I'll get well faster.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Either way, feel better soon!!

I second CA's advice! By all means don't go all out...just get your blood circulating, get some fresh air, and spin the legs a bit!!!

Not sure if it is the gettin' out that make me start feeling better or I am already startin' to feel better so I can go out...

regardless...your pedaling which is good for the mind, body & soul!! Just don't over-do it!!!

Yep, you know. Frustrating tho' it may be, better to rest and recover than overdo it and pay the price for however long it takes for your body to heal.

So..... what did you end up doing? And how are you feeling?

thanks all for your well wishes and advise.

yesterday, I did nothing....NOTHING. I padded around here in my underwear. surfed the net and rea a book. I napped and called a bike shop about getting ceramic bearings put in my new wheels. sooo I guess i did a few things but no exertion. OH, and I have been drinking alot.

I feel a little better this morning. I'm going to take it easy...I haven't decided yet whether to drive back to home A yet.
