Not sure whether to post this under "health" or "nutrition."
So, doh.... Three miles from the end of last night's ride, it's getting dark, and our group turns onto a little bike path that I'm not familiar with. Turns out that there's a pretty sharp turn just after the entry, and there's gravel all over it that I couldn't see. Upshot is, bike and self are pretty much all right, I'm a little bit rashed but mainly have a BIG contusion on my hip and thigh. I'm sitting on an icepack as I type![]()
Extra Vitamin C for cell wall repair I know, extra fluids and eat real clean for a few days (like I shouldn't anyway, ha ha). But what about protein? Obviously no corn-fed animal products, but will grass-fed animal products or wild-caught fish increase the inflammation, or should I have a little cheese, eggs or even m**t to help with tissue repair? What will phytoestrogens like soy do? Anything else I'm missing?
TIA for any advice.
