    TDF Stage 20 Spoilers

I am soooooooooooooooooooo thrilled for Contador

I AM so thrilled for Contador

I am so THRIIIIIIILLLLLED for Contador

He has such a nice face, and so unassuming, and has handled this unusual tour de France so well

I think he is a name to watch for in future events... he is still so young in cycling terms... can only imagine what maturity/increased endurance will give his legs and heart.

(PS... did I say I am thrilled for him?)

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
    "I will try again tomorrow".

I have to agree with you!!! I'm also thrilled for Leipheimer and Evans! So nice to see such young men up there taking in all the glory. What an exciting final stage- can't believe only 31 seconds separated the top 3!

Even tho it had it's downers, I'm still a tour fan and will always be. Just hoping a lot will change in the future.

Nice little tootle thru the suburbs of Paree, then a wonderful wee breakaway on the Champs Elysee and then a perfect finish with all the right people : Dean - almost leading at one point and another Colonial - Hunter - coming in 4th and a great finish for 3rd by Eric Zabel the consummate pro who I was sentimentally hoping might take the Stage on his last TdF.
The TdF is bigger than the scandals of individuals and Paris worked its usual magic. Did you see those crowds?

Very interesting interview on Eurosport with Jonathon Vaughters about the new (American) team Slipstream (who have signed Dave Z, Valverde and David Millar for 2008). They have a whole raft of new ideas about riding clean and seem to think they have the jump on the rest of the cycling world; so they hope they will attract Big Sponsors. That is the answer. If teams cannot guarantee they are racing clean they will have sponsors bail out on them. That and the sea change everyone says we are seeing in the young riders.

I was very impressed with Leipheimer's sportsmanship. With only 31 seconds seperating him and Contador it must have been tempting to try to make it up and go for the win. He is a real team player. I hope he wins the TDF someday.
