Thank you, IFJ! What a lovely butterfly to make me smile on a day I needed one!![]()
Those are such beautiful alpine flowers, and the mountain in the background is stunning! I'm so glad you had the chance to pause and enjoy her show!
Hugs and butterflies,

Hey LB, tell us how you got your love for butterflys![]()
If you don't grow where you're planted, you'll never BLOOM - Will Rogers
Those are some really goreous pictures. The colors really 'pop' in them.
I especially love the contrast of the fragility of the butterfly with the rocks and gravel. Very nice!
I'm a Dog on a Mission! The human & I are doing Woofstock again this year!
Jane, those are beautiful pictures!! I'm looking forward to seeing more (?) when we get together with KayTee on the 3rd!!![]()
"The bicycle was the first machine to redefine successfully the notion of what is feminine. The bicycle came to symbolize something very precious to women - their independence."—Sally Fox
Well, I have to admit, I don't know quite where the idea came from, but here's the first time I used them:
DH and I were on our road bikes in our old home town, on a sketchy, scary section of highway with cross winds, a poor shoulder and big trucks barreling by.
I was freaked. Super scared. Wondered if I would survive. And I sure didn't want to slow down. It's a short section and if I could just keep my speed up, it would be over soon.
Somehow I got the idea to use a visualization technique and decided that butterflies could fly around me and keep my pace, too, so I "surrounded" myself in a huge swarm of multicoloured butterflies. I managed to calm down, keep my speed up, and not get hurt.
It was cool.
I told a friend of mine later, who has a gift, and she thought that drivers who saw us would have noticed a difference between the two cyclists. I thought that was an interesting concept.
Since then, I've called upon butterflies to calm me, give me strength, help me in whatever way I need at the time; and have silently, and lately, not so quietly, offered the thoughts of butterflies to others.
Prayer isn't my thing, and positive vibes are hard to visualize, but butterflies....well, who doesn't love a butterfly?
Thanks for asking!
Hugs and butterflies,

LBTC,
Those photos were great! Thank you for sharing.
For some reason, they wouldn't load on my work computer (even though it has a fast connection). After the day I had today I needed something bright and cheery. Today was gray, rainy, and windy - NOT a day to be out on a boat in the Gulf of Mexico, which was exactly where I was....
Clear blue mountain air, summer wildflowers, flutterbies flittering about, breathe in, breathe out.
GAAK, I miss the mountains of the west!![]()
