Hi Ladies
I’m heading for the Yuma AZ area soon bringing my road bike and I’ve been told Goat head thorns can be an issue. What tires would you recommend to provide the best protection against a flat?
Thanks so much

Hi Wasp.
I can’t say it’s any particular tire. Any favorite road tire will do. You just gotta be careful getting on and off the road. For example on CA AIDS Lifecycle there are particular spots that are a minefield of the dreaded things. So I’d stop on the road, lift the bike, carry it into the stop, carry out when done. Then before setting off I spin both wheels, run my (gloved) hand over them.
You’d see people coming out of the stop, getting a flat, changing it, getting another one ... nasty beasts when they are dry.
