I have what might be a silly question

Okay, I have a question and some of you might find this silly, but that's okay. I admit I can be kind of lacking in knowledge of certain things and material is one of them.

I have a pair of shorts that are the silky feeling material and then I use to have a pair that are more cottony feeling yet still wick the sweat away. Okay, maybe not cottony, but not slick silky like my others are. I'm not sure what the material is but I like them a lot better than the silky and I am not sure what to look for when buying a new pair of shorts so that I can get the better material.
Can anyone help me with that? I hope I made some kind of sense. LOL

    Donna,

I think what you are refering to is probably a polyester blend. Now I know when I think of polyester it brings up images of my grandmother's pants back in the 1970's, but this polyester is different. It feels very much like cotton but wicks moisture and is even soft to the touch.

I have a couple pair of old Canaris like that. I think I got them at REI outlet's site.

Are you talking about bike shorts?

I find that the shebeast shorts are more of the matte, cotton-like feeling as opposed to the really silky shiney lycra (which i also am not a fan of).
I believe that a lot of the Sugi shorts are also the matte material that you might like more.

    Good luck!

I know this is an old thread, but I remembered it when I opened my brand new Terry T-shorts yesterday. They have that matte look and soft feel - not shiny lycra.

Thanks, that's good to know. I have heard the Terry's are very comfortable, do you like yours?

I bought a pair of sheebeast and they have that material I like on them, while still wicking away the sweat. I love the way those feel and fit.
