No, our bikes weren't stolen! I ended up paying a visit to the ER![]()
I've been trying to get rid of a nagging flu like hacking never ending cough for about a week now and since none of the cough meds that I have are doing the job quickly enough, I decided to buy another bottle of cough syrup. I've convalesced for the past 5 days, been off my bike& work.
(I should probably tell you I felt a bit off with some sort of phlegm in my chest about a week before my 200km but let it slide as it wasn't bothering me & didn't bother me on my rides. The weather has changed down here & I probably caught a bit of a chill one morning or on the last 15km of my 200km when the sun went down & became a bit chilly.)
I have some Robitussin & told the pharmacist about that product & she offered me some Rykoden. I have some of this at work but didn't like it as it made me very very drowsy.(zzzzz.fell asleep at my desk at work!) Rykoden contains codiene (will check the sp) which I don't normally think about while taking medication.
So, I took some Rykoden after dinner and was just getting myself ready for work and our swim session otday when I felt really strange. I started shaking, felt woozy, dazed & confused (hee hee.more than normal..), vomited, my mouth went numb along with the left side of my body.I wondered if i'd poisoned us at dinner

Ian came home from walking Yukon & decided that perhaps we should go & visit a dr. I didn't want to bother the folks at the ER but that's all that's open late at night in the Perth region![]()
The Doctor said "You've just experienced the side effects of codiene and you're ok". If that's what codeine does to me, i'll stay far far away!
I'm coolio now & have decided just to let the cough take it's course. I normally don't take medication for flu's etc as they usually go away on thier own.
