    Fenders

I just wanted to share a few thoughts on fenders and maybe get some input.
I lost my balance and jumped clear but the bike hit the ground and bent my front fender. It took me quite a while to figure out how to straighten it that evening.
The front fender is attached at the stem by metal plate, which had bent. So I started off by hammering it straight. That wasn't the main problem though.
Two long spokes, one on each side, run from near the bottom of the fender to the bracket at the bottom of the fork. These spokes can slide in or out, after loosening the nut that holds them tight. I think the fall had misaligned this, as well as bent the metal plate that the nut attaches to. I straightened that just by bending with my hands. I had to get my husband to hold the fender in place while I figured out how far the spokes should go.

My bike is SO much cleaner since I got the fenders. Even if they are bright yellow, I just love them.

i bought a pair of those bright yellow fenders and was heartbroken when they did not fit my bike (which i have trimmed out in yellow)
It seems that fenders are always bending. you sound like you fixed yours though.

I got them for the Xtra even though I have the big back deck. My bike guru said they'd help keep the Important Parts clean, and he even Dremeled a notch so that the bike-powered blender could work around the rear fender.
