    Smile My new Seven

Well, the big day is almost here! My new Seven Ti Alaris frame will be at my LBS on Thursday! (Picture the bike below, but without the blue saddle, bar tape and tires, and with an 8 degree sloping top tube - I like the look of a flat top tube, but my skeleton doesn't comply! My bike will be brushed titanium, with no decals and just the very classy Seven head badge.)

We just finalized the components, and I think I'm going to be very happy!

I'm getting mostly Dura Ace stuff: brakes, BB, crankset, and small hand shifters, Shimano XTR RD for my SRAM 11-34 cassette, and we're trying an Interloc Racing Design (IRD) FD which should allow smooth shifting for my 24-39-52 front chainring. I'm getting the Seven 5 E fork, a Chris King headset (in pewter - oooh ), a Salsa seatpost and handlebar, Richey Pro stem, and my Ksyrium wheels.

Let's not talk about the final price tag , but I keep telling myself that this wil be the last bike I ever buy (yeah, right, says Sadie Kate!)

So far, the only accent color will be the red center of the SRAM cassette. The only decision left to make is the color of the bar tape. I think I'd like a nice dark red, or maybe just black.

So this weekend will I'll be taking my farewell rides on my old bike, and by next weekend I'll have my new Seven in my hot little hands! I am (needless to say!) SO EXCITED!
    Keep calm and carry on...

Beautiful! I think the accents in red will be very attractive, and if you get tired of red, you could change the whole look of the bike with just new bar tape! Congrats and enjoy!

Smile It's here! It's here! Pictures!

Well, my frame arrived safely in San Leandro today, and I ducked in the LBS door just before closing to take a look. Chris fished it out of the box and hung it up for me to take some pictures, and graciously waited around while I did so, even though he had to be somewhere...

    Without further ado...

It does have decals, but I think that's OK - and Bubba told me they can be peeled off anyway

And Chris has a few other non-stealthy Sevens just cluttering up the place - Mimitabby, I think the orange one is right up your alley!

(I also recognized Trek420's Mondonico in the store waiting for some work!)

On Tuesday I'll take my "old" bike over to swap the wheels and pedals, and then by the end of next week I'll have a ridable bike!
