    Irregular Cycle

    Hello,

I've been having some very strange menstral cycles as of recently. I seem to be getting them constantly now and they always last about a week. I've been excersising alot harder and often now, but this just seems ridiculous. I got one in the beginning of April, lasted about 6-7 days then nothing for about a week and a half, then I got it again for about 6-7 days then nothing for a week and now I've gotten it again. It just seems like I'm getting them too frequently and for too long. I wouldn't say they are particularly heavy, but not really all that light either.

Am I making too much out of this or should I go see my doctor? I know that excersie can make them irregular but this just seems excessive....

Also I had my annual papsmear at the beginning of April and they said they've found some abnormal cells and too come back in 6 months for another one....

    Anyone have any insight?
    Thanks,
    Sarah

I say go to a doctor and explain your situation. If anything excessive exercise will delay your cycle. I am not a doctor or have any medical knowledge, however I had irregular cycle before and this is not normal. You should definately go check it out and maybe ask for a sonogram. Good luck to you, hope you have it cleared out.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think it was normal. I'm going to the doctors!

Another vote for the doc. Do you, by any chance have PCOS? It causes your hormones to be out-of-whack (too little estrogen = no periods, too much estrogen = near constant periods), both scenarios are symptomatic of PCOS. I have it and have had success in regulating my periods through acupuncture.

Also, losing that much blood will lower your hemoglobin, resulting in low energy. Overtime, this can be a bad thing.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out,
    Beck
