Red face If easily offended please don't read..

I looked everywhere because I remember seeing a post about a...lump in or around your vaginal area. If anyone knows where it is can you send me the link. If not, not to be to personal but I shaved yesterday and when I was riding today, I started getting pain on the right side. Its off to the side almost where that tendon is...Anyway, it just popped up and is quite painful, and advice?? Sorry TMI I know.

How can women be offended by possible vaginal problems??? Anyway, I remember somebody posting something under "health" concerns (I think) regarding a painful bump, and a few of the ladies though it might have to do with menopause.

I used to shave with a straight razor, and I sometimes I had the little lady waxed. I got a few ingrown hairs so bad it hurt to even breathe! No more of that for me. I just put some warm compress on it, and I didn't do any strenuous movement so as not to irritate it. Hope that helps!

Jenn I think the post you are talking was in the health section last summer.

Most of the cycling books I have read say to soak in a comfortably hot bath two to three times a day for 15 mins. This helps the circulation in the inflamed area. Get out of your cycling shorts straight after you ride or as soon as possible. Wear loose fitting clothes to allow air to circulate around the area. Some of the girls here mention not shaving before a longer ride as this can cause aggravation.

If you dont already have a copy grab Andy Pruitt's Complete Medical Guide for Cyclists and Bicycling Medicine by Arnie Baker they are both jam packed with great info.

I hope it clears up for you soon.

    Jenn,
Check the health section. I too recall seeing something, but honestly cannot recall where, I assume it is there. If it does not improve, see the doctor. I do hope you feel better soon.

To be honest I think my underwear may have irriatated whatever it is because they are new and not very comfortable.
Well, thank you all again!! I'm definately going to get the book that was mentioned!

Great Tip!! With all the miles my DH and I have between us it's shameful that we don't have anything like this yet.

    Jenn,
What kind of lump is it?
Last summer I posted http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showt...highlight=cyst this thread. Not sure if that's what you have... If it feels like a pea under skin when you touch it and it hurts when putting pressure on it might be the same thing. Also it might be just ingrown hair and soaking it would do wonders. Mine just went away on it's own but many require to be taken out by doctors with small incision. Search for "cyst" and you will have 3 pages of results, common problem

Jenn, do a TE forum search using "Bartholin Cyst"...there were several posts.
You can also google it and go to something like a WebMD or Mayo Clinic search for more info.

My first post on this forum (last summer? on "health issues") was about a lump like that... speaking of TMI. "Hi y'all, my name is lph and I have a vaginal problem"

It hurt like <insert favourite invective here>, and took several weeks to disappear. I had a raised, flat hard lump on either side and had trouble sitting.

I tried not riding for a few days, not sitting , washing often, shaving, not shaving, cooling balm, no underwear under biking shorts and wearing boxer shorts otherwise (cotton - no synthetics). I have no idea what exactly made them go away. But they did recede and disappear in the end.
