    anyone tried gel shorts?

Has anyone tried any of the Canari or Performance gel shorts?
I'm signed up to ride the MS150 this weekend(Houston-Austin) and need some comfy long distance shorts. We ride 100miles on day 1 and 80 miles on day 2.
I hate the $120 sugoi ones that I just bought--painful, reds marks on my bottom after one spinning class. I ordered the Shebeest Ultra D's from TE after reading great things about them here. I brought home a pair of PI ultasensors and a performance gel pair from a local shop to decide between for my second day of riding. Any thoughts from anyone?

I know some folks love the performance gel shorts, but they are not on my favorites list. They chamois doesn't breathe. And it doesn't hit me well. The last time I wore them, I had a trail of bruises from the stitching on the edge of the pad. Not comfy.

But my DH loves them - so it just goes to show......

I had Canari gel shorts which I wore and hated all last summer. Hated! They don't breathe at all. Sticky and gross. Plus the padding was bit much whenever I tried to walk around. I switched to a pair of Sheebest knickers for the spring and was amazed at what difference it made. The padding is thinner but more targeted to the right places and it breathes! I just bought a pair of the Sheebest Ultra Ds for summer and am very happy with them on long rides. But everyone is different....

Never tried the gel shorts but PI ultrasensors are my faves for long rides.
