sorry, it had to be said.
actually, i've always thought that looked very interesting. very primal, back to nature, but the more extreme side of nature, like "earth's fury" kind of thing. must have been quite the trip!I used to dream about ice cream, Antonio Banderas, and daquiris on the beach. Now, i dream about fresh pavement...

Yeah, it was just amazing. We got up at 1:30 one morning to be where the lava was flowing into the ocean at dawn. It was kind of scary hiking out over the recent flow in the dark. I was glad we had done it in daylight a couple of days earlier.
We also saw 12 dolphins while we snorkeling! They were resting underneath us I guess. They circled around in front of us, surfaced and went back down behind us. That made the 2 mile snorkel trip worthwhile!
