    Bootie Recommendations?

    Southern California weather wimp here!

I've ridden in the mid-40s so far without a problem. However, it was in the high-30s when I set out this morning and I thought all my 'sticking-out-parts' were going to fall off. So I rushed to the LBS (and TE) and got the covering for face, ears, fingers etc. However, I seemed to have been beaten to the punch with regards to feet, as most of the booties/shoe covers were sold out. Now I'm searching online and I can't make heads nor tails of all the different brands/materials.

I have a small foot (size 6) and don't want to spend too much (max $50) because I don't know how many cold days like this we'll be having. Waterproofing is less important than sheer warmth.

I've heard good things about the Sugoi Resistor Booties, but want to know about other brands as well. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I like the Descente booties. TE recommended them for my petite tootsies - US 6 or Sidi 38/38.5 = size medium

I like PI Calien-toes, which I just got about a month ago. They only cover the toes (hence the name), but so far they've been plenty warm enough for me. Then again, I live in Florida. I'm in the northern part of the state, so we do get some mornings in the 40s, but if temps are in the 30s, you're probably not going to catch me out on my bike. Guess I'm another weather wimp.

I'm a big Resistor fan, since the neoprene booties get soaked quickly and torn up easily when you walk on them.

My PI Calien-toes have kept my feet fairly comfortable while riding in 30 degree temps. The thing I don't like about them is that they don't have great cleat clearance if you use them on mtb shoes like I do. I just bought a pair of the PI AmFib toe covers but have not yet tried them. They are bound to be warmer and I'm hoping the cleat issue will be improved.
