Hello ladies!
Once again I am seeking advice. So I have a week off near xmas so dh and I will enjoy it by mtbiking. Initially I thought we should just drive over to Phoenix and ride National Trail (I'm attached to the trail, I love it), etc. Then I thought maybe we should just head over to Sedona instead. Bottom line, can't make up my mind.

So do you wonderful, wise ladies have suggestions for nice mtbriding in December (must be in the southwest so we can drive around). I'm staying away from Moab.

I've never ridden anywhere but here. I hear Sedona is great. I have friends in Grand Junction and personally would like to check out that area. Good for roadies too I guess.

ooohhhhh! Thanks for the suggestion, I went to Fruita many years ago when I was starting to mtb. with dh. At the time the trails he took me on were too technical since I had just started, but just thinking about them now has me drooling!!!!!

I have to be on it to ride Sedona but I do enjoy it when I am. The only problem is finding the trails and the links between trails. They kind of run out in subdivisions and then you have to find the next one.

I like the trails around Cathedral rock - of course everyone likes to go do submarine rock. Lots more than that too. Some of it can be really challenging some not so challenging.

I like McDowell Park in Phoenix, you get a real good mix of trails, a race loop with 3 different loops a long, a sport and an expert. Also a very nice long trail that is easy but is greatly scenic, the Pemberton Trail. Well worth the ride.

I'm not sure where you are, so this may be too far. However, my son and I had a wonderful time riding some rides near Santa Fe, NM, this summer, which we got from a book called, Mountain Biking in Northern New Mexico: Historical and Natural History Rides. I think the author is Craig Martin.

Lava flows and turquoise mines and ghost towns and the Camino Real. Not just cutting down single track, but rides with destinations.

Thanks for the responses! We go to Sedona every year and love it, because we love it that's why it popped automatically in our heads for winter break. Thinking I might try a change though and seriously considering Fruita (as FBG mentioned).

Tuckerville, thanks for mentioning NM , that's where I live and we have wonderful mtbiking, glad you had the opportunity to see some of our wonderful state.
