I have fallen in love with our group night rides on the local railway trail. It was actually fun even though my light went out after I had been dropped. Mercifully it was a full moon so I could still see rather well. It is a little tough when it gets cold around here trying to layer up for the 90 min ride. I live in a part of the country that gets a lot of snow in the winter so I had to buy a mountian bike for those days. Boy do those suckers weigh a lot and slow you down. Anyway If you have never tried night riding give it a try, you may find that you like it. Of course be sure you have the proper lights and a safe place to ride. I have learned that once a week at least cold and dark are poor excuses for not building your base for next year.
