    Oct 9th rides?

Didn't really feel like riding today.....not feeling 100%....I think my bronchitis is back. However, I made an attempt anyway, mostly to make room for Thanksgiving dinner (which I'm cooking after my ride). Nice day, warm but a stiff northerly headwind for the first half of my 40km ride, but a sweet tailwind home Trees turning lovely autumn shades now, but I forgot to take any pics!
Home now, cooking dinner: baked ham basted in Quebec maple syrup, roasted yams, fresh garden peas, hot rolls, and pumpkin pie w/ whipped cream.
    Oink Oink!
Hope your rides today were great!

Just a little 45-minute ride around our singletrack trails and gravel road. Lovely weather after days of rain and gloom. Much fun! Just wish the days weren't getting shorter...

Went for our typical weekday route. Abou 14 miles or so. Saw a runner wearing a t-shirt that would match beautifully with my Bianchi, Cielo. Came to the conclusion that forcibly taking it from her was not a wise move. So I didn't.

Came home in better spirits than when I left; DH made a wonderful stir fry while I showered up.

Topped it off with an evening dose of TE - I ask you, how much better can it get??

Got in a brief 30 mile after doing crew for the furnace Creek 508. Felt real good. road thorough Claremont Colleges and The University of La Verne. Cam back up a 500 feet gradual climb. Normally, I do about 11 on it, but I was doing mid 13's yippee!

I got in my first longish ride since spraining my thumb in early August, followed by a kidney stone in September. 73 miles of gorgeous New England Fall color on a day that warmed to about 80F. It kind of made up for missing so much of the fall riding.

+1, I think yesterday was my last after work ride for this year. I began at 6:00 and by mile 5 I decided to turn around and head back. It was getting dark much too quickly. By 6:30 it was pretty much dark. Weekdays will have to be trainer miles for me. I will add a also.

I'm sorry Lisa, I couldnt' resist. Your post sounded a little bit like it should be in a more personal posting area. LOL

Sorry, I had to kid you a little.

Did my usual ride half way home from work. 18.4mi with a decent hill along the way (decent for Essex that is, the flatlands of England). Blasted up the hill faster than before! Stayed above 8.5mph for most of it so all this training must be working. When I first did this route many months ago I was struggling to keep up 5mph and had to have a breather stop at the top. Aunty Trek (Trek420) and Mother Duck (Duck on Wheels) will probably lynch me at the next family gathering for doing this, but I was listening to my mp3 player on my ride. Very low volume so I was still hearing all the birds tweeting, and the rabbits rustling in the bushes and heard the tinkle of the dog collar well before the dog jumped out of the bushes in front of me. But the beat of the music was great help up the hill and good for keeping the brain sludge to a minimum. If you are ever looking for good music for pumping up big hills (virtual in spinning class or real), try Gogol Bordello's cd Gypsy Punk. Fantastic and completely insane

Didn't ride to a Latte', but did ride to my chiropractor's visit.

I rode the Seven into town, rather than the commuter, since I wanted to take advantage of the federal holiday (I was off work) and show them my "good" bike. We also used it to discuss the pain I was having during the Seagull Century (since it was quiet still in the a.m., they were both available to chat). I could barely lift my arm to signal a turn by the end of the ride, and they felt the the pain was actually caused by a compressed nerve in the neck, rather than just elbow tendonitis. Everything flows "downstream" which is why my arm hurt so badly, out to the back of my hand.

So, some major massage and traction was in order and I left nearly 2 hours (!) later. Everything was still sore last night, but this a.m. seems to be feeling better (knocking on the simulated woodgrain of this computer desk!).

Oh, and even better news...the 14 miles or so I rode into town, put me at 2,005 miles for the year!! That's a personal best for me! I haven't counted up my commuting days yet, but I'm certain I surpassed my goal of 56 days for the year (the number I commuted last year).

I often find things I say wind up sounding like that- can't help it!
