    Avocet 02 Ti Super Anatomic

I've ridden the classic version of this saddle for years, but just tried the new Super Anatomic version. WOW! I've ridden about 200 miles in 8 days (including 2 metric centuries) and nary a twinge. Before long rides, I slap on a generous serving of Chamois Butt'r in the one really critical spot and go. I generally take few breaks so I can really punish tendor spots. The new cut is molded perfectly.

As narrow in the nose as a man's saddle so no chafing, but wide in back to support my feminine curves. I wouldn't recommend for a mtb because of the width, but perfect for road.

Avocet has a 30 day back guarantee so you can try without risk.

Where did you get the Saddle? I have the Serfas and maybe it has broken down, but it use to be comfortable when I weighed more now it is horrible. I basically have chafing as well as ingrown hair and lumps that form.

Sorry I've taken so long to reply, especially since you're in pain. Just got back from 5 heavenly days in Oregon mtn biking!

I called Avocet and asked what LBS to use since I couldn't find one in stock anywhere. I had an older version on another bike and needed a new saddle for another bike. I liked the looks of the new design and it has sure worked out.

Don't know where you are, but The Rest Stop in Sacramento tries to keep 1 in stock or can order for you. I hope it works out.

Thanks for your reply, I am presently trying the Terry Men's Fly. Bike shop felt that women's specific saddles go so gradually from seat to point and that maybe a men's saddle which goes to the point more directly it might be better. I will try for two rides and decide. That bike shop does carry Avocet so I will see what works.

    Thanks.

I'm using the men's fly and am really undecided. I got it on the theory that I could return it for credit if I didn't like it, but then I got it all muddy ... repeatedly... and there's no way they will ever take it back now.

On non-technical, uphill stuff, I still get crunched in front; I figure that's because I'm not moving around on the saddle enough. The first more technical ride I've done in a while, though, the saddle felt great. Unfortunately, I haven't ridden that trail recently enough to remember how it felt on my old saddle.

Oh well. If it doesn't work out, I may give this saddle to my husband and try .... um, something else, I guess. I'm thinking of the damselfly, since that's nice and narrow.

Well, if you're talking mountain biking, I swear by the WTB Laser V Stealth. The Avocet 02 is strictly a roadie saddle -- way too wide for mtbiking.

I like the drop noses on WTB saddles so I don't spear my shorts on technical mounts. The padding is in just the right places. I don't have skinny thighs but I can get off the back on descents, etc., but the saddle is just wide enough for support when on a Xctry cruise.
