Yes, I know this is really early...
does anyone know when they open registration? Is there still a lottery? I'd like to try to ride this next yearand since it requires a couple of days of driving and hotels etc. I need to plan early

There will be a flurry here when it opens up.
We few, we happy few who rode last year will get the form mailed to our homes, then will begin the usual flurry of sureptitiously (sp?) faxing to our TE pals or .... Mel's brilliant idea she scanned the form and posted here![]()
Then the debate of who never wants to do the Cinderella again because of all the riders 2, 3, 4-10 across, and we'll rant about the newbies who don't call out and why Party Pardee is better.
And another flurry of "but we have to support this because it's womens cycling" and a round of the pros and cons of women only rides vs mixed.
And then... should we revert to Italian food the night before?![]()
So chin upWe have ways to get you the form and you won't miss when it opens up.

You should go to the website and get put on the e-mailing list, they will notify you when registration opens. But I'll bet we can get you the form if you don't.
There just da^% well be better weather next year![]()

LOL. Excellent summary, Trek.
Ah, but you forgot the ranting about the organizers' neanderthal approach to registration - my specialty.![]()
Yes, Trek provided the all inclusive list of need to know answers between now and reg time.

I thought we were talking about my childhood here.
Cinderella is a women's only metric century in CA.
Really I think you should all come and do the Solvang Double with me instead.![]()

Hi Everyone! I am the same person who asked everyone to send postcards so my daughter could win a pizza party and ice cream for her class. Her class did win the contest thanks to all of you sending from every corner of the U.S. Now, to get back to the Cindy - I am a member of the Valley Spokesmen - the group that sponsors the Cinderella metric. You may go to the website at www.valleyspokesmen.org and give Jim Duncan your name and address so that you will receive your own copy of the registration form.
I help with many of the functions prior to the day of the race and it is quite a production. The couple who started this ride 30+ years ago, is still the couple that pulls the whole thing off. They are reluctant to change (as in registration process) but you will probably see slow changes in the future. It is not a lottery process. They go to the post office every day and pick up the envelopes and count them. The first 2500 envelopes to reach them, are the ones that get into the ride! So its first come, first serve. The California Highway Patrol and County of Alameda issue the permit for the ride and they are the ones who limit the number of riders. If you noticed, we no longer wear just wrist bands - you must put a number on your bike. That is because the neighbors along the way want to report riders who do unnamely things in their yards or disrupt traffic. It is also a way that the CHP and Sheriff and local police can get your name and address verified when they cite you for riding 10 abreast and running that 3 way red light intersection!!!
If I can answer any questions on behalf of the Club, I would be glad to. Bekki![]()
vinbek, we may b*tch and moan but we trully appreciate the ride and all that you do.

Hey Bekki- Thanks to you we have a well supported ride!
I did the ride the next day with Linda L, Susan Gibbs,Liz Marcoux, Cindy Sue and a few others. At least we didn't have any rain and no wind. Such a difference in 24hrs! Were you amongst us? I called it Cinderella II!
I'll be there in 2007 with (I hope) my friend Sarah from SF and Sandie V from Fairfield.
Nancy
yeah BG, you and those fair-weather riders.
My favorite part of the ride was the final training ride put on by the Lunachix. That 40 mile route which included Lemon Drop Hill and the most scenic parts of the ride was on a beautiful day.

I'm looking forward to this! Last year was my first time doing this, and though it was work, it was fun!
I want to know though, what Saint I should pray to for no rain. That rain was really something.
