After reading Mimi's 'What I want in a man', I thought the following was, well, judge for yourself.

"be a little gay and a little more interesting..." hey, that's my kinda gal

"prepare the children..." prepare them how? basted? marinated then breaded? Note to TE I am soooooooooo kidding.

"a good wife knows her place" yep, a womans place is in the House...and Senate and ....

Clockwork, are the underlines, squigles and circles reminders of the points where you need more work or parts where you are going ?

I hear a side of Hoisin and shouyu is very complimentary
    *cringe*

I *just knew* you were going to catch that before I did. And hey, if you're "A little gay" you might not *care* if he:

    *stays out all night
*pretends his topics of conversation are more important than yours
*doesn't want his actions or judgements questioned-remember, you have no right to question him.

Just have your best friend over, some southern comfort, and in no time, you may even forget he exists!

that must be the manual DPITA wants me to live by...

I'd better re-read that puppy and commit it to memory.

Let me live in my delusions, Trek. La, la, la, the president knows what he's doing, the whole world is hearts and rainbows, people let science and humanitarian goodwill rule all their decisions and everyone means well. La, la, la.

Knotted- you could lovingly offer to arrange the pillows over her face.

Yeah, but I couldn't eat a whole one....

Love the bit about not questioning him if he stays out all night. Mine would only try that once and he'd be out the door - permanently (no chance of that as he's a home-bird and prefers for us both to go out together )

    How times have changed though.

you know what? i find that article so far off that's it's just cute. i'm thinking "aww, she's really trying to be nice". i can appreciate the care and concern even tho the inequality is blaringly obvious and unfair. if it only went both ways, we'd all be set.

sorry the funny typing, one hand.

What great advice, maybe I'll apply it when a certain place freezes over .

I can't believe that people used to take this stuff literally. I just about choked on most of the suggestions.

Yep. And you don't have to go all the way back to the 50's to find it. Wasn't "Stand by your man" a 60's song? And I vaguely recall some others about remembering to take the curlers out of your hair before he gets home from work, or some such. These songs were only just years, or maybe only months, before R-E-S-P-E-C-T hit the lists.
Half-marathon over. Sabbatical year over. It's back to "sacking shirt and oat cakes" as they say here.
