Quiet commute this morning. Not much stirs that early I suppose. Getting cool enough to break out the leg warmers, which I just love doing!

Had an uneventful commute in this a.m.
It was cool - 58 degrees - but not quite cool enough to break out a vest or arm warmers. I figure, if I can suck it up enough to get to that first hill, that hill will warm me up plenty.
Coming home, I saw the most strange sight. I was riding along the street, which has a decent shoulder. Coming at me were two young boys...actually three...on two BMX bikes. Yup, riding - more accurately, weaving - against traffic (no helmets, of course) and one bike actually held 2 boys...one riding on the handlebars of his buddy's bike, his feet on the pegs of the front wheel. They were holding huge posters with writing on it - written in big block letters, but just outlines so I couldn't read it until I was practically on top of them.
Both signs read "Honk 4 Jesus".
I pointed across the street and all I could blurt out was "Yo. You belong on that side of the street."
But as I rode away, I thought, "Honk 4 Jesus? Heck, I'll honk for an ambulance when some car takes those idiots out!"
Dh and I, along with my stepmother went for a 12 miles ride this evening. My stepmother wants to ride with us when we go to Waco at the end of the month so we are trying to get some endurance and miles in with her.
Just the commute. But the ride home it was so dark that I got scared. Walked on the sidewalk part of the time.
Must get some lights. I have a red taillight, but i need more lights. Maybe a few Frog lights. I'll just festoon the bike with them.

I cycled the 20 miles half way home again. Great ride and a new personal speed record. My average mph for the whole ride was 14! And I powered up the bigger hill at 7.5mph at the slowest, much better than the day before. Felt very proud of myself and super excited when I got home. Luckily BF was there for me to brag to when I got in. The cat never seems too impressed when I brag to her. And aside from the great speed, it was a very nice ride. Sunny and warm and I saw a big flock of phesants scuttling around in a field.
