...well, that's what I think anyway. This is Candy, my new roadie girl. Her pink and white colors remind me of cotton candy you get at the 4-H Fair or fun carnival. Hoping she will bring many fun rides just like the ones at either one of those events too! Taking her out today, so I'll have to report back later... but just wanted to share a quick pic of her at least for now
.
Candy is a 49cm carbon frame Orbea Onix Dama TDF. Everything is pretty much stock on her right now until I decide what I want to switch up. Shimano Ultegra sl grouppo w/R700 shifters. Compact 50/34 w/12-25 cassette. Terry gel saddle. Look Keo Elle pedals. The bars & stem... meh, that's needs some help. The first stem a fitter suggested to me from another shop gave me major upper back pain spinning the parking lot (thinking too short in reality). This set up is a bit long I can tell from a quickie around the neighborhood. Gonna ride her & go from there. But getting a smaller frame size I can tell already feels much better--yeah!

Today's short ride (less than 20mi, moderate pace, chatting w/ride buddy, slightly rolling)...
The reach could use a tweek... but I think I love her to pieces already.
With my too big size bike, I found it a struggle to ride my bigger chain ring. In general, I just felt like there was a lot of 'fighting' going on between me and the bike.
With carbon correct frame size Candy... I did it the whole ride (plus cuz the mega calves GF rode her 53t the whole way) in my biggest ring. Everything was just better
.
She is a BEAUTY! Love the colors and the name!![]()

Lovely bike! Glad you're enjoying it.
I also made the mistake of buying my first road bike in a size too big. I love my 49cm!
Wow- beautiful ride!!! I like the frame how the seat tube is black all the way down and it looks like the rest of the frame wraps around it. Soooo pretty!!!! Enjoy all your many rides together!![]()

Miranda, I am SO happy for you!!!!!!
You looked for SO long, and thought about every single element and component. I am so proud that you made hard decisions and ended up with such a sexy machine that doubtless will give you hours and hours, months, and years of pleasure.Speaking from personal experience, my upgraded road bike has given me more happiness than any other purchase I have ever made.
Congrats again, and enjoy your new Candy

Thx everyone posting thus far... yea, she's much sweeter in person than I would have ever dreamed of!
Thx fidlfreek.... I was just thinking that... it was so much "sorting out" to try and get it right this time... but when you have that feeling that you have found "the one" in terms of bikes, to fuel your passion of riding, it's really something!
She is sweet! Enjoy!![]()

Wow, that is really really beautiful!
BIG CONGRATS!! I am glad you are already enjoying her. Your shop should definitely offer you a stem swap. Which bar did you end up with? Do you like it?
