    August 31st, how was the ride?

    Nice commute in at 40 degrees. Opted for a long sleeved tech t-shirt instead of the usual jersey and that went well. Looking forward to taking the road bike out this weekend, as she hasn't seen pavement in a few weeks!

    40 degrees! ::whimper::

    Well, for me it was a "cool" upper 70s (which is a break from near 100) and I got in 7.3 miles in the neighborhood in time to come home and shower to meet someone for a meeting at noon -- only to find out the meeting is called off. Okay, I can live with that.

    But -- the nice thing is, even though I wasn't sure I'd ridden far enough to do it -- I broke 200 miles on my bike, today. It has taken me awhile to get there, but it feels good!

    “Hey, clearly failure doesn’t deter me!”

    Hey, Pooks, way to go on the 200 miles on your bike! May the next 200 go quick and smooth.

    The ride was OK. I posted a new thread "is this my atittude?" about it. I am 67 miles away from 2,000 miles for th year. I will have to catch up after vacation.

    welp, I just have to realize that it takes 5-7 minutes longer to get to work during school session (even without emergency stops :-))

    I just took my bike in to the lbs for a quick tune up. The bike shop is 7 miles away so it's a good little ride there and back. Now the bike is nice and smooth shifting and with a shiny new extra bottle cage on it.

    And while I was waiting for the bike, I wandered in to town to run a few errands. I'm considering the 5 mile round trip walk as cross training and eating my ice cream without feeling guilty about it tonight. Delicious Thornton's toffee ice cream. Mmmmm!
