Terry Zero X ??? anybody???

did not get a comment about butterlfy's but in my research i found this

and wondering if anyone has it and what their opinion is?

Now I don't have the Zero X saddle, but I did get the Terry catalogue yesterday...the specs note that the Zero X is wider in the back and shorter in length than the butterfly by just a hair. Looking at the pics side by side, though, the shape is a little more "streamlined" looking (the taper from the sit platform to the nose seems more gradual than the butterfly) and it's described as a saddle for "power riders who prefer a flat rear platform". Did you look at the pics side by side? The nice thing about the Terry saddles is that if ya don't like it ya can return it (within 30 days...which means you'd better ride a lot in those 30 days!).

Thanks yellow...i do not get the catalog but i have looked at them side by side...never had anything but a butterfly so i am not sure if i would perfer flatter...I do know i want a narrower nose

I HATE CHOOSING SADDLES...they are too expensive!!! good to know about their return policy though!!!

first ride with the zero...and ZERO PAIN!!!! not to mention how much sportier it looks than the pink butterfly (which is now atop the commuter monkey)

do not have it positioned perfectly but we rode over 30 miles and the tush is happy!!!

I didn't see this post initially, or I would have chimed in good feedback:

I have had the men's terry zero for years and I love it!!! Its way better then the butterfly or the fly for me. I think the zero X, which is new, is probably a bit wider in back than mine. Anyway, the zero rocks - so I am not surprised the X is good, too.

Did you try it? I'm in the market for a new saddle... or I might try changing the angle of the nose of my current saddle which is a Terry Damselfly. It's normally fine but puts a ton of pressure on my pubic bone when I'm in the drops on my road bike. Would love to hear from people who tried the Damselfly and now have a Zero X.

Fishdr has one, and at least one other person. I know fishdr loves hers. I am saving up to get one to try out- I am also trying the Blackwell Flow. No reason- love my Vitesse, just looking for greener grass, I guess. Vitesse is getting up in years and showing signs of wear from all the rain she's been out in this year, and, of course, the new Vitesse has been changed beyond recognition, though you can still find an older one exactly like her.

edited to add that MP is the other person I was trying to think of- but she's on the Zero Y.

I wonder what "softer for 2006" means? Part of what attracted me to it was the firmness.

Thanks Nanci - I hadn't seen this thread. Yes - I do have the Terry Zero X and love it! It gives good support, but doesn't squish the girlie bits and doesn't bother my sitbones. I feel very stable on it.

They used to sell it here on TE, but I just checked and it's no longer listed. What's up with that???

Anyway - I highly recommend this saddle. I've been meaning to do a writeup on it for "Favorite Saddles", but I haven't had a chance.

I owe you big for the recommendation! Your advice saved me from endless saddle testing! I'll buy you some chocolate if I make to San Franciso for the meeting. Since I'm still waiting on the call, I may still be going to the meeting, even if I do get the job

I'm definitely trying the Zero X. The Serfas tri saddle left me so sore after 40 miles over two days that I didn't even want to ride the Bianchi today. I rode the Larkspur to work. I cannot have a saddle that makes me reluctant to get on the bike!

I got the Zero X a few months ago. It was immediatly better than the specialized saddle that came on my bike! I've done my longest ride yet, of 68 miles and had no soreness.
Can't believe I never saw this thread. I thought I'd done a search, but maybe not. I started with the Terry because of the return/exchange policy. Lucky for me I didn't have to use it.

Is this not it, I see TE are calling it a Terry Zero Saddle, but the piccy shows the saddle says Zero X on the side of the nose.

Or is this an older model?

That's the one I have. I ordered it from TE the end of May. I just checked and it has been relisted on TE. I agree with you that it was not listed yesterday. Maybe they just got their new stock in?
