I personally cannot stand elastic at the waist of my jersey unless the shirt is so large that the elastic does not actually bind to my hips.

Yep, and that was my exact problem with the Primal "Flutter Bike" jersey. Still a bit bitter about that one!![]()

I've started removing the bottom elastic if I get a jersey that I like otherwise.
I will never knowingly buy a jersey with elastic in the bottom. And if by chance I order one online (by mistake, of course), it goes right back.

The most important thing for me though is the woman's STYLE jersey. I have
a few men's (from before i figured it out) and the dumb things always ride up because i happen to have hips.
I just bought a nice jersey from TE without elastic, it fits, it's really nice.
i don't like tight elastic.
I take the elastic out and hem the jersey. It's not a professional job, but it works.

i don't like it... but a lot of my jerseys have it...
I must be in the minority, but I actually like the elastic fit waist. I like the tight aerodynamic fit - perhaps it's psychological, but I sure feel faster when I wear them!!!!
I am shortwaisted and have hips and a matronly abdomen. Elastic just doesn't work. I too take it out and do my own hem job.
It's about the journey and being in the moment, not about the destination
Gah! I can't ever get the darn stuff to stay where it is suppose to! If I get a jersey with elastic, out it comes.

I'm with you Cusepak... I also like the aerodynamics of the fit with elastic, but it is also a necessity because I carry so much in my pockets (mostly food - I'm gluten and casein intolerant and I can't count on finding food that I can eat when I'm riding). In my elastic-free jerseys I find that the stuff in my pockets bounces up and down and is extremely annoying and distracting when I ride. Also, I don't have to worry about my cell phone or wallet flying out!

I voted both because it really does depend on the jersey for me. I have a few that have elastic and I like them that way...and a few that don't. I've taken the elastic out of two shirts because it annoyed me.
Now that I think about it, I guess I like the elastic on shorter jerseys. On jerseys that are longer than my hips, it drives me nuts because the band rides up and the fabric bags around my waist. When the shirt is shorter than my hips (which actually happens pretty often as I have a long torso), I like the elastic for keeping things 'modest' when I am bent over on the bike.
I didn't vote but I will discuss. I know I am in the minority, but I like elastic, otherwise I feel like the shirts keep riding up. (maybe when I lose the stomach I will prefer no elastic)![]()
Hmmm, now that I am thinking about it, I don't really care. I have both types. I do not like elastic when a jersey is short. It just jumps up even more, and I don't want to burn my back in the AZ sun. But if elastic stays in place, I am OK with it. It is more important to me that it fits tight and there is room for my shoulders. For a small girl I have decent size shoulders.
