Unhappy ow - my Uterus ??

Okay - trying this forum, not sure which sub section is most appropriate.

I rode my first century a week ago. Lots of climbing, and I know my core needs lots of work to help my lower back. By mile 90, I started getting stomach or lower abdomen cramps - hurt mucho, but I knew we were near then end so I tried to ease up a bit w/out slowing too much. Stretched out lots, took it easy this week. Had a little bit of spotting (totally normal for me tho.)

Saturday I rode around 45 miles - but had lots of little sprint attacks, was windy, and a few hills that were slightly larger than rollers. Yoiks does it hurt down there! I swear the pain is in/around my uterus & right ovary. Feels tight, sore, achy - but it shouldn't?! I've been sore since that ride, but not in a menstral crampy way.

Does this come from big efforts? poor form? or is this a 'get thee to the doctor' situation? It's not debilitating - it's just there. owie.

Do you get ovulation pain? I get terrible one-sided lower abdominal pain when ovulating. Definitely one side or the other. Lasts for a day or so. May or may not be related to the ride... Just a thought..

Or maybe you pulled an abdominal muscle? Guess you should get it checked out if it doesn't go away...

Can you usually feel when you are ovulating? I know, TMI. Just a thought. It is not plesant, at least not for me. BUT if this is something new, please error on the side of caution and see a doctor or at least talk with your doctor's nurse.

Could it be one of the suspension ligaments for your bladder?

Always best to check with the doc. At least call the office and ask to speak to a nurse. (that's free!)

Edit: oops! I think that word was s'posed to be "suspensory" or maybe "suspenders"... geez, I'm in suspense, which word is it?

    That's really interesting...
After my 40mi ride (not a lot for a lot of ladies, but about 2x what I usually do) I was a little sore, and after some 'encouragement' (okay, not that much) There was 'naughtiness' and my gf freaked that I was 'spotting' about a week before I was supposed to get my period. I ended up not bleeding for 3 days after that, then having horrific cramps the first and second days of my period. (Sorry if TMI, but such is the nature of this thread I suppose... )

I'm wondering if all the strenuous activity had anything to do with the earlyish bleeding and then cramping?

    hmm...

I just don't know, since we are all so different! But I DO know that strenuous activity, of the biking kind, at least, tends to inhibit my bleeding and cramping, not increase it. I flow much lighter during the summer months of increased activity. As for sexual activity, doesn't seem to make much difference, strenuous or otherwise, as to bleeding, etc. Biking lasts for a longer duration (at least for me!) so probably has much more of an effect on the functions of my aging body. I will a MOST HAPPY person when all the menopause business is over and done!
