    I Rock!

Rode my longest ride ever today!!! While not very far for most people, I chugged and pushed and got my big heavy self and my big heavy mountain bike to go 20 WHOLE MILES.

And when my sweaty, exhausted self got home, the boy greeted me with french toast. Yummm.

So, now that I'm feeling great, I thought everyone could use a pick-me-up. So, tell us, girlies -- What makes you rock???

    Have a great-tastic weekend!

Excellent! Congrats for giving it a go (and the french toast sounds great!).

Way to go Lois Lane!!!! Hey- check your air pressure. Mountain bikes go low for trail riding- 35 lbs. But on the street you can pump them up to 60. If you haven't, try it. You can add 3 mph and get five more miles in the same amount of time (and effort).

What makes me rock?? As a returning newbie mountain biker, following my gf's on their full-sus bikes down a rocky canyon w/ multiple stream crossings and riding through dry creek beds without bouncing off or crashing my hard tail. (Except when I threw my bike sideways to avoid the poison oak!)

    I ROCKED today because....
After practicing for several weeks, I finally was able to stand all the way up and keep steady when peddling uphill!!! Just like I could do when I was a kid. Woo-HOOO, look out you nasty hills, here I come!!!!

    Yay for you lot!

I totally don't rock today. I think the most strenuous thing I've done all day is try and take a nap. I was going to go have a go at track riding this morning, just for fun, but that didn't happen because it was raining. Oh, and my bike turned one today - I haven't even been out to the garage to say "happy birthday" to her, much less bought her a present. What a terrible bike mother I am! I am taking her out for a proper ride tomorrow, at least...

Some days are not for rocks! Friday I was gonna get in all kinds of mileage, being a day off, but I had ridden myself into such a lather Thursday because it was hot and my TIRES WEREN"T FULLY INFLATED, so I was totally exhausted (which usually takes a century). Friday I slept in and then piddled around taking bike path pictures instead.
Today I was able to get up EARLY and ride 10 peppy miles before the club ride, in BYOOTIFUL weather (60's, sunny, 15 mph NW wind). What rocked was having three or four new people and not riding them into the ground - doing an 18 mile loop, back by 10:30 so people could still get stuff done instead of collapsing in the couch.
If I can tear myself away from distractions and get some more of that online course done, I might get out again for a little.
    Yay FLoyd!!

See?? Rocking is great. We should all do it way more often! :-)

Somedays, I think I rock simply for tackling the enormous pile of dirty laundry... or staying under my allotted weight watchers points (and passing up those gooey brownies... or kicking *** at work.

Yay for rockitude. And an even bigger yay for us.
