Thumbs up My First Ride!! :-D

Dh watched the kiddo this morning so I could take a ride on my new bike. Brandy was able to join me and helped to give me some pointers and etiquette. My initial plan was just to ride around the park near my house. It took us about .5 seconds to blow off the park and head to the beach!

We had such a nice ride. Gorgeous weather and uncrowded. An hour and 20 minutes and 17.3 miles later we made it back home just in time for Brandy to pick up her kids.

I wanted to keep going, going, going. What a perfect day. Brandy, thanks my friend, for coming along with me!

Are you doing it this year caligurl? Tracy and I are both signed up and I think that Pam and her friend Wayne said they might do it too. I'm only doing it because I want the jersey.

yes... the double metric.... which i have to say is an EVIL ride! SOMEONE saw fit to put a steep hill at the 100 mile mark! i was shocked last year when i hit that hill! EVIL! AWFUL! i stood up on my pedals... put my head down... grit my teeth... and powered through it! UGH! NOT looking forward to THAT part of the ride... it's only on the double metric portion though... so don't be scared off! lol! i'm just venting ahead of time!

this year i'll be able to see how steep it actually is with my handy dandy edge! lol! i don't even have an overal grade of it from last year cuz i didn't think to hit a "lap" on my polar to get the grade! ugh!

ya... last years jersey's were nice too.. VERY bright... orange... purdy! but this year.. that dragon is just cool!!!!!!!!!! the meal at the end of the ride is nice! they rest stops are all well manned and plenty of food (last year they had lemonade.. and that's the only ride i've ever filled my bottles with something other than water! and their gimmick is the popsicles at one of the rest stops! people seem to really like that!!!!!

LOL...I was posting at the same time. I'm sure Tiff will forgive me, we're really tight and I promised to burn some cd's for her, so that should make for our little snafu here caligurl.

No pictures. I couldn't locate the memory card for my little camera and didn't want to haul the big clunker with me. Next time, next time. I think we're abandoning plans to take a Body Flow class on Saturday morning, in favor of riding instead, right Tiff???

    Brandy & Tiffanie,

Bikerchick68 is showing us a route on Saturday from San Marcos to the beach and back (40 miles) if you wanna come along; we are leaving the parking lot at 9:30am.

    Trac'

ps. BC68, these two characters have been doing spin classes and they are pretty studette-ly! If you do any hills, just bring a bungy cord to attach to Brandy as she whips right up all of 'em!
