I am getting a new mountain bike, Giant Yukon, but I think I want to change out the tires on it as the ones that come on the bike are really big and although I do most of my riding on gravel roads, I do some riding on paved surfaces too so I'm concerned about the really big tires dragging me down on pavement. I still need a wider tire of course but I do think I could change to something else and still not give up road performance on the gravel.
Any suggestion's as to what would be a good option for tires given my riding condition's? Here's a link to the bike itself.

Depending on the type of offroad riding you do you might want to consider a semi-slick tyre. These tyres generally do not have a lot of tread in the middle but do have knobblies on the outer edges to give you a bit of grip when you ride offroad. Most major tyre manufacturers will have a semi silck model, so should not be too hard to find.
