    Carbon frame damage

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Ok I'm an idiot and learned a sad lesson the hard way. I leaned my carbon frame against a rock wall and then proceeded to trip over it and knock it down. The result is 4 major scrapes on the frame. It is 5 months old and this is a total drag. A couple of the dings are all the way through the paint.

Does anyone have experience with repairing/painting a carbon frame?

    It's a Specialized Roubaix.

I don't have experience with painting a frame, but at least it sounds like the damage is superficial/cosmetic. If you have any high end/custom bike shops in your area, you might want to take your bike in.
    Just keep pedaling.

    Oh no

That totally sounds like something I would do. I chipped my carbon the first day I had my bike by taking it off my bike rack and slipping on some ice. My body broke the fall of most of the bike but the fork has a chip in it. I can hide the chip with the quick release though. I don't know how to fix it. Let me know if you find out.

I would have the bike shop check the integrity of the frame, just to be safe.

    Good woman! A real cyclist!

Look at the bright side - you don't have to worry about rust - right?
