    doing the rain dance....

Hoping and praying that Bike Camp doesn't get cancelled. I'm signed up for my second year at the womens' mountain bike camp in Rossland British Columbia. I learned so much last year and have been ready to go back ever since I got home last september.

Anyway, camp will be cancelled unless we get rain. The forests are so dry in the region as a whole ( Idaho, Montana, parts of WAshingtin, BC) that portions are closed. The fire danger is just too great. PLus many of the trails are solid dust.

I will be so bummed if they cancel. I had such a good time, and I am still working on skills I learned last year. My riding must have improved 100% from what I learned...

    sigh... doing the rain dance...

Dance away Irulan - just so long as you put in a special request for it to stay dry in Italy.

My boyfriend and I are going over there this weekend to sort out our new club kit and for my bf to ride the Gran Fondo Monte Grappa. ( 6-7 hour mass participation race up taking in Monte Grappa in the Dolomites.) He did it last year and was lucky with the weather, but I don't like the idea of him riding down mountain hairpins in the rain!

Hope your camp goes ahead. I have to say, in rainy old England it's rare to hear people saying they're looking forward to camp, but hope it rains!

    Have a good one.

You can have some of our rain. I'm so sick of the wet weather and constant mud, I'll be glad to trade you a few weeks of your dry weather for a few of our wet weather

I'll keep my fingers crossed that your camp doesn't get cancelled. That really be a bummer! I'm looking forward to it for you!

    Cheers,

too late, I got a mail last night that camp was cancelled ! Boo-hoo! They may try and reschedule but I don't have high hopes. Fall can either be gorgeious or hideous up in teh mountains.

    Oh, well maybe next year.
