WTB saddles

In desperation, I finally broke down and took my beloved Comfort V off the Larkspur, and put it on the Bianchi. So far, it's the most comfortable saddle I've ridden on. I need to give it a long trial, including aerobar time, on Monday, after the soreness from 30 miles this morning on the WTB Deva wears off. Ouch! Too hard! Despite wanting to look like a lean, mean cyclist, I really don't want to be in pain.

Then...I was looking at the WTB site, and wondering about the Speed She, and some of the other "multi" use saddles. http://www.wtb.com/saddles_multi.html

Anyone have any experience with these?

I have a speedshe on my old Bianchi. It was rather comfortable without being too squishy.

I hate! hate! hate! the WTB Speed She. Something about the groove in the middle is shaped very badly for my personal anatomy - I could feel the ridges of the groove on each side of my perineum.

But try it for yourself - obviously we're all different. I'm now very happy with a $35 Specialized BG women's saddle.

hmmmm. Yes. I could see that being a problem. Sigh. If I like the comfort V on the Bianchi, I'll just leave her there, and image be danged. I want something that looks like a sleek racing cycle, and feels like...the Comfort V!

I actually took the WTB saddle off my Giant and put it on my Ruby, since the Dolce saddle that came on Ruby definitely rubbed me the wrong way! Who would have thought?

Lise, I guess our bodies are all truly different because I love my WTB Deva. Several years ago, when searching for the perfect saddle, my BF threw an old WTB SST.X saddle on my bike. Finally, the perfect fit The saddle was pretty worn out so I decided to get a new one but WTB had discontinued that model. So, I tried the Speed V and the Rocket V (I think I still have one of these. If you'd like to give it a try, I can ship it to you. It's not doing me any good sitting in a box in the garage.). Both were too squishy -- lots of chafing because my butt moved around on it too much from the squishy-ness.

I managed to find a SST.X on ebay so I was happy for awhile but worried about what I would do when that one needed to be replaced. I started asking all the women I ride with about their saddles, what they liked and didn't like and why. It turns out that one of the women had just been asked by a WTB rep that she knows to demo their new saddle -- the Deva. She was happy with her current saddle so asked me to demo it for her. Like I said, it was perfect for me but I like a really firm saddle. I've put over 4000 miles on it with no problems.

I'd say go for comfort. If you like the Comfort V, who cares how it looks?
