Or- I could be sleeping since I can barely make it till 9PM!
I love the Satin Shorts. They are impossible to find in my size. They apparently don't ever restock. The chamois is dense foam with different levels. The first time I rode it, I thought it was a bit firm- but now it's the ideal to which all others are held. It is also the _right size_ not dinner-plate size!!!!! (My pet peeve lately) The fabric is silky, _maybe_ a bit fragile- I wouldn't wear them mountain biking. A bit low cut, but not ridiculous. I like that now. Silicon leg grippers. I wear these shorts one day, wash, wear the next instead of wearing any of my other four pairs.
The Sunflower shorts are more sheer, the chamois is like a thinner version of the Satin chamois, and they are a quite low cut. The fabric of the matching top is really cool- silky, but breathable. I like the whole outfit thing.

Hey all lovers of Trashy Cat Satin Shorts,
I just checked out the Trashy Cat web site, as I need a new pair of shorts and was curious to try the Satin shorts. They don't have my size right now anyway but I got distracted when I looked at the closeup shot of their chamois. It's the exact same as the Rapide Short from MEC of two years ago. Last year's, and this year's I think, is a bit different, and I found that I like it better (there is one less pattern in the pad, and for some reason it's a bit softer than the older version - and it's dark blue instead of red). Otherwise the short looks exactly the same, the 8 panel construction, the fabric, the leg grippers, the seams, etc. Maybe the trashy cat version is shorter, or so does it look from the web site. Inseam for the MEC short is 7 1/2 inches.
(Note: stay away from their Cyclo short. I really hated it, it seems to be cheap for a reason.)
So anyway, I thought I'd let you girls know. At CDN$52 the Rapide shorts are an extremely good value, and I might simply turn to buy another pair just like them. Shipping to the USA is 19$ for xPressPost, which you can expect to come in in just a few days, it's not much much more than what TrashyCat charges to ship to the USA (and they don't ship to Canada, so I'm not going to get their short anyway!!!).
I've been curious about these shorts, since Nanci loves them so much. I went to the website--in black, the only size available is XS. That's just silly. I would've bought a pair to try them out. Maybe we should have a TC-Alert when they come available again.
Nanci, are they really all that? What would be your next favorite? L.

Lise, I think I could have loved the Canari shorts, because the gel chamois in the knickers I looked at was very interesting- it looked like it might work out, and I actually rode around the yard with them- but the dumb rise of the knickers came up to right under my boobs. Since I really doubt I am going to meed maternity shorts at age 47 (I hope to God I don't!!!) I sent them back and am now suspicious that the shorts would be similarly constructed.
TC Satin Shorts are so much all that that I took only them on my two-day ride and washed them Saturday night.
Geez, I'd even get them in blue or maroon if they ever had _those_ in stock in L.

The Trashy Cat shorts have an eight inch inseam- they just look short because the models have such log legs!!
I can only find the current MEC's. I wonder if I'd like them. They're about $45 USD.

Do try them. I find the chammy even better than 2 years ago. And at that price... wow, good deal!Originally Posted by Nanci
Hey gals. I'm new to the forum (I know, I know - I need to get my rear over to the main and introduce myself...). The posts on Trashy Cat immediately caught my eye... I've been thinking of purchasing some of their Satin shorts... Do they run small? And has anyone tried the cream colored ones - that carry the "these are completely sheer" warning beneath them??
